Wrinkles & Rainbows

There's a gentler, slower way.

Embrace the freedom to make space for learning that nurtures connection, wonder, faith, and joy.

"Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work."
Dr. John Trainer
(commonly misattributed to C.S. Lewis)

Your heart knows this instinctively: these young ‘wonder years’ are a fleeting afternoon in which we have the opportunity to meet wonder with wonder.

Come in. Have a seat. Exhale.

Dear One,

If you’re standing at the crossroads between pressure and peace, I’m glad you’re here.

Whether you’re about to begin or already teaching littles at home, worried about doing it right or making mistakes, you’re in good company.

I want you to know that it’s going to be okay, and there’s a gentler, slower way.

I’m Amber–a veteran homeschooler of over 20 years, a pastor’s wife for over 10 years, a mother for 26 years, and Nana to four (ages 2 and under.) And in God’s divine plan–starting over on our homeschooling journey for the second time with our midlife surprise (our wonderful and amazing little Miss Mouse.)

And THIS TIME,… I get to apply all of the wisdom and grace I have gained through the decades.

I have the unique advantage of sitting at the corner of “already graduated the kids out” and “doing kindergarten again.”

I personally know how precious, valuable, and deeply essential the early years are. I know that connection matters more than curriculum choice. And I know that childlike wonder needs to be embraced and encouraged.

If you want to hear the rest of my story and learn more about my philosophy, I invite you to meet me for a cup of coffee and an amazing God story over on the “About Me” page. See you there.

With love and peace,

Amber
